A Marx Generator is a clever way of charging a number of capacitors in parallel, then discharging them in series. Originally described by E. Marx in 1924, Marx generators are probably the most common way of generating high voltage impulses for testing when the voltage level required is higher than available charging supply voltages. Furthermore, above about 200 kV, the discharge capacitor becomes very expensive and bulky. The Fitch circuit is becoming popular where very good control over impulse voltage is required.
Features:
1, High Craftsmanship: The black acrylic shell is used, and the two acrylic plates are fixed by copper columns. It looks beautiful and convenient for observing.
2, Stable Performance: Capacitor with a withstand voltage of 30kv2000pf, Capacitance with high voltage, large capacity, is not easy to breakdown, the generation of arc is also very strong. Stage 6 arc 15-20 cm.
3, When the marx generator discharges, it will generate relatively large electromagnetic interference. If it is powered by the switching power supply, it is more susceptible to interference and damage. It is better to use a lithium battery pack, a battery, a transformer, etc., which are not afraid of electromagnetic interference.
Tips:
1, Do not touch the Marx generator and high voltage power supply while the power is on!
2, During operation, the equipment should be kept at least 3 meters away from other household appliances to avoid electromagnetic interference from arc
3, At the end of each test, use a screwdriver or other metal with an insulating handle to simultaneously contact the two copper posts on the 20KV power input terminal, and drain the remaining power in the capacitor to touch the Marx generator.
4, The power supply voltage of 24V should be provided by yourself. Open the switch after connecting the power supply
